Excellent Ice Cream Taco - Edit
I tried the seasonal ice cream taco here which was delicious. The waffle was nice as well as the chocolate coating. The taco is big enough to split and they were able to cut it in half. The staff are friendly. The interior is modern and well lit. I highly recommend the ice cream taco.

You must go here if you like ice cream! The place is so cute and they have tons of flavors to choose from! I had to get the choco taco and I have no regrets! The thing was amazing and absolutely massive! We should have split one to be honest! My husband and I loved them and we will be back to try other things next time we are in Portland!

Very bright and colorful interior like most ice cream shops. Long line, but it went by in a decent manner. A good amount of options to choose from. I found the moose tracks to be painfully sweet where it was hurting my teeth, but the marionbery crumble was fantastic. I found the prices to be just a smidge too much, but that's vegan desserts for ya. Nothing really wowed me, but if I was craving ice cream amd happen to be in the area, I would stop by to try something else.

We saw a review on YouTube so made the stop. I stuck to traditional mint and chip in a homemade waffle cone. My hubby got the soft peanut butter brittle and chocolate brownie. Texture of temperature of the ice cream were good. The waffle cone would probably have been better dipped because it really didn’t have much flavor in my opinion.

Solid Ice Cream - Edit
So, I’m an ice cream snob. I love everything about it and I must say Kate’s delivers. The assortment is fantastic and you can get some foodie to wacky to basic flavors, which is always a win. I will say the price is kind of meh and the texture can be off sometimes, but overall, very solid. I strongly suggest anything with salted caramel. Their recipe is FIRE!

Good Ice Cream with a long line in the summer - Edit
I got an ice cream topped brownie which was alright. The ice cream itself was very good I just did not care for the brownie. It was very dry and almost chalky. It being gluten free is no excuse though as I have had many amazing gf sweets. Check it out if you're in the area, but I wouldn't recommend going out of your way for it.

I recently went to Kate's with my beloved. Kudo's for being all vegan. I got the Cookie Monster and orange creamsicle in a waffle cone.
Read moreMy beloved got salted peanut butter brittle and marionberry cobbler which were the two most popular flavors. She thought the ice cream was a bit sweet.
I thought mine was quite good. I especially enjoyed the orange creamsicle. I actually enjoyed the cashew based DIY cookies and cream in Oakland better along with young coconut flavor coconut based ice cream in Oakland as well.
Not to compare yet very solid here and innovative/creative flavors that are all vegan. Worth checking out!
Ambiance was simple and just fine.
Mississippi can get busy so be patient when looking for parking.

I've been vegan since 2012, so maybe it's been too long since I have last had dairy ice cream, but I am telling you, this is just like any ice cream you have had, only 100 times better. You can test the flavours first. The atmosphere is adorable. Go there now.

Decent but Long Line - Edit
We tried their peach crisp, which is a seasonal flavor, and their almond joy. They’re nice about letting you try to flavors per person. I feel like the peach needed more peach flavor, maybe there was some banana in there competing with it.  I had also tried. The Marion berry crumble but the parts that didn’t have any Marion berry or crumble tasted like a very plain, soy based vanilla.

Top notch plant-based ice cream - Edit
This place is up there with Frankie & Jo's in Seattle for me - excellent quality and love the flavors. My husband and I both picked the same two flavors at Kate's: Pistachio and Peanut Butter Brickle. I had mine in a cup, while he had a cone. The ice cream was rich and flavorful, and we want to try more of their flavors. They allowed our dog inside, although we ended up sitting on a bench on the sidewalk to eat.

The Pacific Northwest seems to have some of the highest quality ice cream shops. Kate’s for me is on the same level as Frankie and Jo’s out of Seattle. One of the best, don’t miss out!

Kate's Ice Cream is so great, and everything is gluten-free! The Rosewater Cardamom Almond flavor is definitely my new favorite ice cream flavor of all time. I also tried the Pistachio flavor and the Marionberry Cobbler. Both were fantastic. The gluten-free waffle cone was super satisfying. They even have gluten-free fudge brownies and chocolate chip cookies. #Veganuary

Kate’s is SO YUMMY! Everything is gf, including the waffle cones! The ice cream is made in house, and is very sweet but gets balanced by the not so sweet cone. My favorite is the peanut butter brittle. I like the mini scoop, which fills the cone, but if you want to try more than one flavor they will split the regular scoop for you!

Many flavor options, all vegan (coconut-based). The staff was very friendly and were great about a tree-nut allergy in our group. Tried the Marionberry crumble and salted PB brittle which were both delicious. Very pricey and not overly generous scoops. But you can have a split single scoop to try two flavors.
