Totally delicious 😙👌 - Edit
We had a selection of starters, 2 mains and shared a dessert. Everything was really tasty, my favourite was the cabbage balls, the pickle veg, pineapple rice and the banana fritter. You can tell there is a lot of effort and thought put into the food. The staff were very nice and the vibe of the restaurant is very relaxing and beautiful. I definitely recommend 💚

So much flavor! - Edit
I’ve never seen Malaysian food veganized like this — I wish I could’ve gone back again to try some other dishes!!
Read moreWe got a bunch of starters and the Nasi Lemak. Highlight was definitely the Nasi Lemak and tofu satay.
Overall, I wish there were more “light” and protein-filled options. Many of the dishes were carb-based and deep fried. It was still a great experience, but I would go more often if it had more variety.

Incredible! - Edit
I discovered soul vegan a few weeks ago and have ordered three times since. The laska noodle soup is perfectly seasoned, the wonton and spring rolls super crispy! I will be in Edinburgh for 3 more weeks and will definitely order again before leaving!🌱🤍

Extremely popular - Edit
Really pleased we’d booked. When we arrived there were people outside waiting, hoping a table might become available. Every seat was taken, and in demand so when you’ve finished eating they really need you to leave.
Read moreThe service is friendly despite them being busy all the time. The presentation of the food is lovely, and it’s tasty.
It’s a lovely space and even though it was packed it wasn’t too noisy. Looking forward to visiting again.

So amazing I still haven't recovered - Edit
We ate so many dishes here, every single thing was delicious. The atmosphere was quiet, calm, perfect. The owner and chef is from Malaysia and wanted to share his culture and food. The portion sizes were generous, everything in homey feeling dishes, when you order tea it comes in a teapot enough for three or four cups of tea.

Scrummy - Edit
Scrummy food, lovely and piping hot. Good options to choose from.
Read moreWe had the Laksa, Gan Lau mee and the special tofu along with the Mapo tofu which was delicious. I really enjoyed the Char Sui in my Gan Lau mee and at first I thought it looked like a small portion but actually it was the right amount of noodles. Yeah I really love a good amount of food 😆. My husband had the special tofu which was nice enough but he thought it was too expensive for two fried stuffed tofu and tender stem broccoli. We also had the salt and pepper chips which didn’t taste like it had any seasoning but just fried with peppers and a little lemongrass.
Staff were overall friendly although we did feel rushed by one member of staff as she quickly cleared bowls as soon as she thought someone had finished. We had only been in there for about 45 minutes so we certainly weren’t holding a table up. However food was spot on and we would definitely return. Make sure you book though as it’s very busy.
Pros: Great food, All vegan
Cons: We felt rushed by one member of staff

Really good laksa - Edit
100% vegan! We got the laksa, BBQ combination, and the fried tofu. The laksa was really flavourful, all portions were generous. The seitan in the laksa and BBQ combo was a little softer than I prefer still very delicious. The fried tofu was nice but lacked a bit of flavour, still no regrets - and the broccoli it comes with was perfect.
Read moreQuick, friendly service. Definitely recommend - but make sure you book. The space is small and it’s frequently full. If you can’t get in for dinner, it’s worth going for lunch since the menu is the same.
Also reasonable prices for Edinburgh considering the size and quality.
Wish we would have had room for dessert! Something to look forward to next time 😁
Pros: Laksa, Service speed and friendliness, Portion sizes are generous
Cons: Deep fried tofu only okay

Perfection 🍜 - Edit
For anyone that appreciates the magic of asian flavours, this is the best place in Edinburgh. Amazing service as well. The only way they could improve is by extending their opening hours and maybe moving to a bigger space as the current one can feel a little claustrophobic when it’s busy.
