Walk up and order casual vegan Mexican. Burritos are huge with a choice of protein (seitan, seasoned Beyond Beef). Tons of menu choices including tasty margaritas. Definitely recommend if you are in the area!

Read moreTacotarian has been on my list for a while, though I was expecting to visit the LV locations before SD - but as it happened we were on a road trip and the opportunity presented itself. We placed a pickup order that was extremely speedy. Tried out 4 regular tacos and the Giant Taco with carne asada. I love finding unique options like this - where else can one get a giant vegan taco?! It was outstanding and comes with "French fries, choice of "meat", refried beans, house nacho cheese, lettuce, guac, pico, crema, salsa morita". I enjoyed every single filling we got: fish taco (probably my favorite), mushroom asada, gabacho, chorizo, and carne asada - would get any of those again.

I was truely blown away by the menu options and the food here. I had to go all out and order three things. It’s also so hard to find vegan Elote! Portions size excellent and the taste was perfect. Very fresh too. I ordered on doordash ans was fast and hot. #Veganuary

First of all, I was blown away by an all vegan Mexican restaurant. I already love San Diego, tacos, and vegan. I need to relocate 😍. I got the taco platter with the plantain, mushroom asada, and barbacoa tacos. The food portion was beyond filling. The platter can with rice, beans, and salad. Also, I got a side of guac. I went around 5:30pm during happy hour…1/2 off margaritas. The hibiscus flavor was great! Definitely coming back and hope to find more in other locations. #Veganuary

I got the taco platter with mushroom asada (which was the best one), chorizo and a bean & cheese taco. It was pretty good but it'd be nice to have more hardshell options. The brunch menu looked so good but I had to try the tacos at a place called "Tacotarian." Would definitely try again.

I've been here a few times, and the staff are always very patient, kind, and friendly. Everything on the menu is fully vegan and tastes great. I recommend the Taco Platter if you haven't been here before so you can try their different flavors. My favorites are the mole, mushroom, and al pastor.

I finally made the trip back to San Diego and was thrilled to see that a fully vegan taco restaurant opened since my last visit. I literally stood at the counter trying to decide what to order for about 15 minutes. Everything looked absolutely incredible. We ended up sharing the nachos with mushroom asada, a couple street tacos, rice/beans, and queso dip. I honestly don’t think you could go wrong with anything on the menu. I think my favorite was the queso - the cheese was so melty and flavorful, and I loved the mushrooms in it. I would come back to San Diego just for this restaurant. Also, the staff was incredibly friendly and attentive. GO HERE!

Everything I've tried at Tacotarian has been great. The cheese they use in the quesadilla tastes like dairy cheese! Drinks are good too. Margaritas are on happy hour in the afternoon (I can't remember the exact times, I'm sorry). Traditional large plates with rice, beans, and small salad. Oh and parking is easy, right out front.

I tried all the tacos and highly recommend going with the pastor option for burrito or tacos. Also the tacos were super greasy compared to the burrito so I recommend the burrito which came with a nice salad, rice and beans.
BUT if you get tacos it comes with 2 tortillas so you can double up the tacos you have by splitting the filling. 👅
The habanero is really good if you can handle heat. Dare you to go for this option.

So many great options but haven't been overwhelmingly impressed and have had some negative experiences including a bad stomachache. Other times it was pretty good but not something to rave about.
